DOMAINE DE MOUCHAN

COLOMBARD-SAUVIGNON 2016

COTES DE GASCOGNE BLANC

Domaine De Mouchan 2016

OVERVIEW

The green and generous land of Gascony nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees and on the doorstep of the Atlantic Ocean had already dedicated practically all of its slopes and valleys to the art of the vine from the antiquity. With an oceanic and temperate climate, the Gers is in a privileged position: just the right amount of sun, rain and coolness in order to pamper the vines and let them reach their optimum maturity. These vines are also nourished by the richness of the typical Gascon soils. To the east, the Terrefort: a clay soil on limestone bedrock. To the west, the Tawny Sands and “Boulbènes” are a mixture of clay and alluvium. It is in this privileged environment that vines of Domaine de Mouchan, family run-property bought in 1949 by the Braissant family, grow in order to reveal all the typicity of the Côtes de Gascogne wines.
